This classic, extremely limited 2017 Diamond Mountain Cabernet displays deep garnet color with a nose of black cherry, lavender, violet, dried mountain herbs and dark chocolate. On the palate, intense, concentrated mountain fruit of black cherry, ripe plum, earthy cocoa, cedar, and brown spice complexities round out the long, expressive finish with silky tannins.
While ready to drink now, it will age gracefully, easily for another 7-10 years.
Extremely limited 70 cases!
"To match intensity, luxury and a true sense of place in each sip, winemaker Michael Quinn crafted the 70 cases of this limited release Cabernet Sauvignon with fruit from special vines planted on the rugged, ash-rich soils on the east-facing slopes of the Diamond Mountain appellation between St. Helena and Calistoga in Napa Valley.
Deep, powerful and complex, with a perfect touch of graceful hillside swagger. The wine opens up with an alluring dark garnet hue and lofty aromas of fresh picked berries, cherry cola, dried blueberry, mountain herbs, forest floor, savory spices, and roasted black walnut. On the plate, the dense flavors of dark cherry, briary blackberry, ripe plum and cassis are interlaced with complimentary notes of dried cranberry, red pear, wild sage, cinnamon, clove, and a decadent hint of dark chocolate truffle on the lingering finish. Richly textured with bright acidity, chewy tannins and firm structure. Overall, this is a true diamond in the rough that becomes more luxurious in the glass when young, and silkier when aged in the cellar. Pure mountain flavors and a true gem for the price!"
